When traveling using your own car, it has got a car seat that you can put your infant baby in for protection. When traveling using public transportation, you will like the fact that you can easily fold it and carry it in one hand and your baby in the car seat on the other hand. And when flying, you will be happy to find out that its compact size easily fits into most airplane overhead compartments.
It is also perfect for strolling city streets as it is compact, easy to push and turn, and has a large storage bag for running errands.
Evenflo Pivot travel stroller
The stroller is as shown in the image above. Isn’t it stunning? I think what will shock you the most about this stroller is how affordable it is. For a stroller that is perfect for all the things I have mentioned in the introduction above, most people will surely expect it to cost several hundred dollars. However, it goes for less than three hundred bucks. It is, indeed, one of the cheapest travel strollers available on the market despite being a very good quality stroller. The Evenflo Pivot seating modes
You can push this stroller with the Evenflo Pivot toddler seat, with the SafeMax car seat, or with the toddler seat converted into a pram/ bassinet. Each of these three seating modes can be either with the child facing forward or with the child facing you. So in total, this stroller has got six seating modes.
The Evenflo Pivot travel stroller seating options
The Evenflo SafeMax Car Seat seating mode
This infant car seat comes with the Evenflo Pivot review Modular Travel System. It is a fantastic car seat that has a maximum weight capacity of thirty-five pounds. This means you can use it to carry your infant baby until he or she hits six months.
What I love the most about this infant car seat is the fact that it is designed to provide the baby with maximum protection in case of a crash. The part that provides maximum protection is the base which is designed to absorb impact energy and redistribute it in a genius manner. So in the unfortunate event that you ever get into an accident in a car with your baby in this car seat, you can rest assured that your baby will get the best protection from the impact.
The car seat
Installing this infant car seat in the car is pretty easy. This is because the basic set comes with a car seat base for it. Once you install the car seat base, you will be able to easily install the car seat within seconds. And when you successfully install it, you will hear a clicking sound. This is pretty nice since if you do not hear it, you will make sure you install the car seat correctly so that it offers your baby the protection it is designed to offer in case of a crash or collision.
It is also pretty easy to install this car seat on the Evenflo Pivot travel stroller frame. You simply need to snap it onto the frame.
For me, the most beautiful or exciting thing about this SafeMax car seat from Evenflo is the fact that it provides great support to the head and to the back. This is exciting to me because it means it provides the right level of comfort and support to delicate infant babies. So you do not have to worry about hurting your newborn’s neck or back when you carry them in this car seat. While according to the reviews I have read, the most exciting thing about this car seat is how safe it is. They love that it absorbs collision impact and that it has a safety harness to prevent the baby from flying out of the seat in case of a collision.
The SafeMax car seat
The SafeMax car seat is well-padded for comfort and has a nice and soft fabric cover. This cover will not affect your newborn baby’s delicate skin.
I love that this infant car seat has a fantastic ergonomic handle. This plus the fact that it is lightweight makes carrying it a piece of cake.
The Evenflo pram / bassinet seating mode
The stroller in the pram/ bassinet mode
This stroller comes with a very special toddler seat. The seat can easily be converted into a pram in a matter of seconds; no need for you to spend extra money to buy a bassinet.
When you convert this stroller’s toddler seat into a pram or bassinet, its canopy will provide your baby with all the cover he or she needs. And most importantly, it will be fully flat. This means it will be perfect for carrying newborns and young babies who still have delicate necks and backs and, therefore, need all the support and comfort they can get.
Converting the toddler seat into a bassinet
One thing you should keep in mind about this stroller in this mode is that the toddler seat can only stay in this mode while still on the stroller. When you remove it from the stroller, it will lose the mode and collapse.
The Evenflo toddler seat seating mode
You can start using this mode from when your baby becomes a toddler (about six months). The special toddler seat that I said can be converted into a bassinet in the section above is the same one that you can use to carry your baby from six months.
As a toddler seat, this seat is quite brilliant. I say this because it is well-padded, because it can be reclined for comfort, and because it comes with a safety harness to protect the baby from falling off it.
The Evenflo toddler seat
This Evenflo toddler seat can fit even a three-year-old baby comfortably because it has a maximum weight capacity of fifty pounds and a pretty tall and wide sitting area. So it is a seat that will serve you for a long time.
I like this stroller as a whole because it can be used from birth until such a stage or age when the baby no longer needs it (three-years-old). I also like how this flexible this toddler seat and the fact that it can be used both as a seat and as a pram as I explained earlier. The fact that this seat is convertible essentially means that this stroller kind of comes with a free bassinet. So if you are looking for a quality stroller that is cheap and comes with a free pram or bassinet, I guess you now know what to get.
Evenflo Pivot canopy
The Evenflo Pivot features a large canopy
This stroller comes with a large canopy. The canopy is a three-panel canopy that is made of a nice fabric and that provides great protection against the sun. Your baby will enjoy sitting or sleeping underneath it during summer or on hot sunny days.
The canopy includes a viewing window on top. The window is made of mesh and it allows you to silently see what your baby is doing without disturbing them. You can also use the window as a ventilation window to improve airflow within the canopy and prevent your baby from overheating especially on hot days.
The viewing window on top of the canopy
Evenflo Pivot wheels
This buggy comes with some pretty decent wheels. The two front wheels are smaller than the two back wheels. This promotes stability and makes the stroller easier to maneuver. All the wheels are made of rubber. This means you can never have a flat tire with this buggy.
The thing I love the most and at the same time hate about this stroller’s wheels is that the front wheels can swivel. The fact that they can swivel makes this stroller easy to steer and turn even around tight corners. However, these two swiveling front wheels cannot be locked. Therefore, you cannot make this stroller more stable if you need to navigate over rough or uneven terrain. So because of this, this buggy is not all-terrain.
The wheels on the Evenflo Pivot
As I have said, this buggy is not all-terrain. Nevertheless, I must confess that it moves really good on most city surfaces such as pavements, streets, sidewalks, gravel roads or lanes, packed soil, and short grass. It also moves great on indoor surfaces. In short, this is a fantastic urban stroller.

Evenflo Pivot brakes
This stroller comes with parking brakes. The parking brakes are foot-operated with a pedal next to each rear wheel. While the parking brakes are nice for immobilizing the stroller, the fact that one has to lock the two wheels separately is not really nice. It is quite a hustle, to be honest. I would have preferred Evenflo to have just fitted this stroller with a single action parking brake.
The two braking pedals on the Evenflo Pivot
While I do not like that the brakes have to be locked independently, I like how easy they are to engage and disengage.
Evenflo Pivot handlebar
This stroller comes with a great ergonomic handlebar. Unfortunately, the handlebar is not adjustable. However, it stands at a height of 40 inches above the ground. This means short parents and average height parents will have no problem or wrist discomfort pushing it.
This stroller is quite easy to push for both short and average-height parents
Evenflo Pivot storage basket
The large storage basket on the Evenflo Pivot travel system
I love the storage basket on this stroller. I love it because it is big and it offers tons of storage space. The storage basket is located underneath the toddler seat and can accommodate everything you need to carry for you and your baby.
In fact, the storage basket is so big that you can use it to accommodate all the stuff you need for a day trip.
The best thing about it is that it is very accessible. You can access it from the front or the back of the stroller.
Evenflo Pivot folding
This stroller is relatively lightweight for a regular stroller. Like almost every other Evenflo stroller, it is very easy to fold. In fact, it is so easy to fold that by the time you have finished reading this current long sentence you would have folded it if you wanted to.
To fold it, there are two levers – one on each side of the stroller – that you need to lift. The levers are at the handlebar level, so no need to bend to fold this stroller. When you lift the levers, the stroller will automatically fold itself down.
The only thing I do not like about this stroller’s folding is the fact that it cannot be done with one hand.
A folded Evenflo pivot double stroller
When folded, this stroller needs to be locked manually for it does not lock itself. You will love how compact and slender it is after folding. So its small footprint is great for storing it in a small closet or for transporting it in a smallish car trunk.
You will probably not like the fact that this stroller requires both hands to be unfolded. However, this is the case with most strollers, so it is not really a big drawback.
Evenflo Pivot assembly
I will tell you right here and now that this stroller will be the easiest stroller you ever assembled! And it will only take you a couple of minutes to put it all together. It comes with a detailed manual that has simple step-by-step assembling instructions.
Evenflo Pivot accessories
This stroller comes with a couple of accessories. For example, it comes with a belly bar to give your child something to hold on to and to protect them in case of a head-on collision.
The stroller also comes with a child tray that you can attach to the bar. You can use this tray to hold snacks and a sippy cup within your baby’s reach.
There is also a beverage holder. It is expandable and easy to fix or remove from the frame.
The beverage holder and the child tray

What other moms and dads think about this stroller
As usual, I checked out the reviews that other parents have left for the stroller on Amazon and other sites. As always, I do this to find out more about a stroller before writing a evenflo pivot review about it.
From the reviews, I noticed that most of the reviewers were very impressed by the quality of the stroller. I also noticed that most of the reviewers were very impressed by how simultaneously sturdy and lightweight the Evenflo Pivot is.
Many reviewers were also quite impressed by the stroller’s safety features and its reasonable price.
As is always the case, I also noticed some critical reviews among the many reviews that I read. The common thing that the critical reviewers did not like about the Evenflo Pivot was the fact that its front wheels do occasionally get stuck when it is being pushed on rough terrain.
Conclusion
This is a quality stroller travel system that goes for a very reasonable price. It is a stroller you can absolutely use from birth to late toddlerhood. And it comes with several accessories whose prices are included in its sale price. So no need to spend extra on them. In my view, it is a great stroller for urban parents. Thanks for reading this evenflo pivot review
What to consider before buying this stroller
In my view, the most important thing to consider before buying this stroller is that it does not have all-terrain wheels. This means that although it can handle city surfaces such as gravel, asphalt, and pavements, it cannot handle rougher or more uneven terrain e.g. tall grass, unbeaten paths, and so on.
Why buy this stroller
There are three key reasons why you should buy this stroller:
- It is a great urban stroller. This is because it has the wheels to handle city surfaces and because it is lightweight, sturdy, balanced, and safe.
- It is a versatile stroller. This is great because it can be transformed into a pram and has other seating options suitable for kids of different ages.
- It is a reasonably priced quality buggy. This stroller is made strong and features great assets including a quality frame and fabrics yet it is sold at a reasonable price.
